Head & Neck trauma

Injuries involving the head and neck can occur as a result of household/ occupational accidents, assaults and even animal-bites. These can lead to loss of vital tissue such as nose, lips, ears etc. This loss needs to be reconstructed by transferring the body’s own tissue from a nearby or distant site in order to restore the normal appearance and function of the face. Also, deep cuts of the face involving the lips, nose and face are very common which require meticulous repair to achieve normalcy.

Lower Limb injuries

Injuries to the lower limb are very common and are predominantly caused by road traffic accidents. These injuries are often complex, associated with soft tissue loss, fractures and degloving injuries. Proper assessment of the injury and involving the patient in the decision-making allows selection of the best treatment plan that ensures long-term happiness for both patient and surgeon.

Maxillo-facial injuries

High-velocity road traffic accidents are usually responsible for fractures of the facial bones. Untreated fractures can lead to a change in appearance and difficulties in chewing, speech and vision. However, these injuries often occur concomitantly with head injuries and are therefore, often missed or neglected. Early recognition and prompt treatment provides the best possible results for these fractures.

Tendo-achilles injury

Tear of the Achilles tendon at the back of the heel is a common injury resulting in severe pain and difficulty in walking. Following repair, patients can usually go home the very same day.
